About Me

...Just a little

hi there

I have been painting, drawing, and building since before I could walk (series incorporating my childhood art pending). I went to Washington University in St. Louis, where I majored in Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Psychology. Related to the work you see here? It most certainly is. Perception is fickle, mutable, and our only link to the world around this. You are reading this, so I am altering and filling your visual field and brain activity. Maybe the sound of traffic, or the feeling of the carpet on your feet, or the blinking of your eyes also influence your perception. Or, they do now that I've made you aware of them.  You're welcome.

       Painting is all about perception.

My current work focuses on themes of beauty, decay, consumption, fetishization, and deception. I'm interested in things which look beautiful from a far, but are not in fact as they seem. I love repurposing discarded, aging objects, reinventing them and giving them a new life.

Isolating or recontextualizing body parts, or even ordinary objects, sexualizes them and gives them different meaning. I exploit this phenomenon in most of my work.

The more you look, the more you see. Enjoy.
